Car Nicobar Airport Contact Number: or CBD as it is known is said to be one of India’s largest airports. It is built at an elevation of 2 m above the sea level and the airport is operated by the Indian Air Force. It is an Air Force Base and it stands as the southernmost defense post of India.
The 3000 ft runway was first designed and built by the Japanese during their stay in the island. That was during the years 1942 – 1945. Subsequently the runway was extended to 8886 ft by the Indian Air Force. The Car Nicobar airport made headlines when it was devastated by the 2004 tsunami where a lot of officers, their wives and children lost their lives. It has been rebuilt and renovated in a record time of three and a half months again, for the travelers to use.
